Bespoke Web Development for Artists & Musicians

Rosiest Design creates stylish, fully functional and affordable websites for performing musicians, artists and ensembles. Each website is tailor-made to suit your individual requirements and style.

“Web design at very reasonable rates. Perfect for musicians too! Perfect Pitch recommends Rosemary Galton.”
Adam Green, Perfect Pitch Music

Welcome to Rosiest Design!

I’m Rosemary Galton, freelance classical singer, mathematics graduate and Rosiest Design’s founder.

In 2011 I decided to put my two passions to use, to set up a website development business especially for musicians – by musicians. My aim is to create fully functional, stylish websites especially for performing artists and ensembles everywhere.

I offer a full range of services – from design and branding to coding, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and technical support once your website is up-and-running. You can even make your own updates, thanks to an easy-to-use content management system, which means no hanging around when you want to make changes!

Each website incorporates musician-friendly features such as photo galleries, audio and video players and concert diaries, and is optimized to work on smartphones, laptops and tablets, so your site will look great however you view it.

Philippa Murray

Philippa Murray, soprano

“Rosemary has been simply superb, building me a smart and stylish website, with a minimum of fuss and a great deal of patience at my indecision! A pleasure to work with.”

The brief: Philippa wanted a simple, stylish website that integrated her beautiful photographs into the design of the site itself.

The process: Philippa’s photos were at the heart of the design for this website. The plain backgrounds meant that they were easily able to be incorporated into the larger design for a minimalist look, where the eye is drawn naturally to the burst of colour in her dress. Philippa chose her typeface with particular care to reflect her elegant style as an artist.

S J Denney

“From the off Rosemary was charming, yet honest enough to challenge my ideas, and improve them ... She worked to every deadline set out in my project plan and addressed every teething issue along the way at the earliest opportunity ... I highly recommend Rosiest Design!”

The brief: Stuart had a basic hard-coded site which he wanted to freshen up and relaunch in line with his latest EP release. He gave me a well thought-out list of requirements including a photo gallery, an events diary which could show venue maps, a music player to be present on every page of his site, links to buy the new album, as well social media links.

The process: Stuart’s clear ideas for functionality and design made my job a lot easier. The site is built on WordPress using a bespoke theme with a Bootstrap 3 framework. The photo page uses the native WordPress gallery and some custom page templates. Finding a reliable cross-browser audio player which suited Stuart’s aesthetic was a challenge but I eventually settled on SoundManager 2. We put the site through some rigorous cross-browser/device testing, and ended up with a great finished product!

Wild Laurel

Wild Laurel

“Rosemary was brilliant at helping me create Wild Laurel. She was patient, clear and concise. We worked closely on all aspects and Rosemary listen carefully and designed exactly what I wanted.”

The brief: Laurella had been running a blog on Blogspot for a number of years, but felt it was time to expand her web presence. She wanted a new online home her blog, her passion for healthy living, and her professional yoga tuition.

The process: My first non-musician client presented a fresh and interesting challenge. We worked together to create a clean, minimalist magazine template, with different sections for each of her different interests, whilst maintaining a consistent look and feel for the whole site. This site utilises various features of WordPress, including social media integration, event plugins, custom post types and custom page templates.

Brand consultancy

Your brand is unique to you as an artist or ensemble. As a musician myself, I can help identify the traits that set you apart, whilst advising on expectations and norms within the industry, to create a brand that is both professional and distinctly yours.

Bespoke Design

Using your photographs, preferred colour scheme and typefaces, I’ll put together a stylish and eye-catching general design for your website. Many people choose to view websites on their smartphone or tablet, as well as laptop or desktop computer. Responsive design means your site will look great on any device.

Coding & Development

If you opt for a bespoke website, it’s possible to replicate any design element you like with the right code. Coding or adapting plugins for the features you need – whether that’s a concert diary, audio player, or media gallery. I create a development site on my own server, to safely undertake cross-browser testing and iron out any bugs before the site goes live.

Technical Support

I can give initial advice with buying domain names and how to set up web hosting. Once your website is live, I’ll still be on hand to help with the technical side of things – for example, overseeing important upgrades, fixing technical faults or updating your content.

Social Media Integration

You can opt to include embedded news feeds, follow and sharing buttons to help spread the word about your work. I can also create social media profiles in keeping with the your unique brand.

Music Engraving

I also offer typesetting services using Sibelius 6, creating modern performing editions from historical facsimiles, or typesetting handwritten manuscripts. I am happy to accept anything from solo songs to full orchestral scores.
